While sanitising decreases the number of microorganisms, disinfectants are more effective as they contain chemicals like hydrogen peroxide that produce destructive free radicals.<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.insider.com\/guides\/health\/the-difference-between-sanitizer-and-disinfectant\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">These radicals attack cell components and kill almost all the microbes<\/span><\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0present on a surface or object.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sanitisers are useful in reducing bacterial presence on surfaces by around 99.9%. They are primarily effective against bacteria, but their efficacy against viruses or fungi is limited.
